Damien Atkins is currently Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for The Hershey Company, where he is responsible for leading the corporate secretary, government relations, legal and security functions.
Prior to joining Hershey in August of 2018, he was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the Panasonic Corporation of North America. At Panasonic, he managed the company’s full litigation portfolio and led global legal teams in several multi-jurisdictional Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and antitrust investigations, lawsuits and claims. He also led a global legal team in the $1 billion acquisition of the Hussmann Corporation in 2016.
Before Panasonic, Damien was Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate and Chief Compliance Officer for AOL, Inc., leading a range of high-profile legal matters for the company, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and real estate legal matters, including AOL’s spin‐off from Time Warner.We hope to connect soon!

Damien Atkins serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary at The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY). At Hershey, Mr. Atkins oversees the legal, government affairs and corporate security teams as well as counsels the company’s Board of Directors and senior management.
Before joining Hershey, Mr. Atkins was General Counsel and Secretary for Panasonic Corporation of North America. As General Counsel for Panasonic North America, Mr. Atkins managed the company’s globally dispersed legal, public affairs, and environmental affairs teams. In addition, Mr. Atkins acted as interim CEO of Panasonic’s Sensory Solutions Group from September 2017 until August 2018.
Before joining Panasonic, Mr. Atkins was Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel (Corporate) and Chief Compliance Officer of AOL Inc., working for a total of nine years at AOL and leading a range of legal matters for the company, including mergers & acquisitions, corporate and real estate legal matters. Mr. Atkins began his legal career in 1998 as a corporate associate at Chadbourne & Parke (now known as Norton Rose).
Mr. Atkins was named General Counsel of the Year in 2016 by the New Jersey Business Journal, Corporate Counsel of the Year in 2017 by the Metropolitan Black Bar Association, and Diverse Attorney of the Year in 2015 by the New Jersey Law Journal. Mr. Atkins earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and graduated from New York University School of Law.
Ira Levy is a senior partner in Goodwin’s Litigation Department and a member of its Intellectual Property practice. He is recognized globally for his cross-disciplinary expertise, successfully first-chairing patent, trademark, copyright, false advertising, IP licensing, and related matters for a wide array of industries and in a variety of technical disciplines. Mr. Levy is fluent across many product categories and technical disciplines, and has more than thirty-years’ experience with first chairing disputes in the food and beverage industries, as well as related fast-moving consumer goods and hospitality products. In addition, Ira has extensive experience with disputes involving biotechnology, electrochemistry, and pharmaceuticals; electronics, computers and telecommunications; mechanical devices; the Internet, new media and e-commerce.
Mr. Levy has handled as first chair numerous bench and jury trials in federal and state courts nationwide. He also has significant experience practicing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to his litigation work, Mr. Levy works closely with the firm’s Business Law Practice counseling clients on general corporate matters involving intellectual property and the Internet, as well as transactional due diligence, and other licensing issues.
