Gabe Plotkin currently serves as the CIO of Melvin Capital, a multi-billion dollar long/short investment fund that he founded in 2014. Prior to Melvin Capital, Gabe was a portfolio manager at Sigma Capital, a division of SAC Capital Advisors. There, he oversaw a $1.8 billion portfolio in consumer-facing industries, including retail, internet, restaurants, gaming/lodging, and consumer products. Previously, he was a managing director at North Sound Capital, a strategy analyst at Citadel, and a private equity analyst at Henry Crown. Gabe graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University with a BA in Economics.
Leon Shaulov is the founder of Maplelane Capital, a New York based long/short equity hedge fund. He graduated from Dartmouth University in 1998, traded technology at Goldman Sachs from 1998-2002 and was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Galleon Group from 2002-2009. He founded The Happy Baby Foundation, a non- profit organization, dedicated to supporting critical research to improve the lives and futures of people born with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Together with The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research, over $3,000,000 has been committed to more than 70 research projects to date.
Paul J. Isaac is the CEO and founder of Arbiter Partners Capital Management, LLC. His responsibilities include managing the firm’s relationship with investors and the investment community, overall strategic exposure and asset allocation, individual security analysis and selection, and investigation of private investment opportunities. Mr. Isaac has been actively investing on behalf of himself and others for over forty years. Prior to founding Arbiter, Mr. Isaac managed equity and debt portfolios directly; researched and employed outside managers; analyzed and invested in alternative strategies; and provided investment strategy consulting to investors. Mr. Isaac has also served on several non-profit boards, chaired a charitable endowment, and held positions as a corporate director. He brings a broad range of sell side experience, including eighteen years of managerial experience in the securities industry, spent at Mabon, Nugent & Co. and its successor firms. During that time, he developed and ran the firm’s training program as well as managed the firm’s municipal, government, mortgage-backed and high yield bond departments. He served as Chief Economist and chaired the firm’s commitments and credit committees. During his time at Mabon, Mr. Isaac also spent a term as Chairman of the Securities Industry Association Capital Rules Committee. Mr. Isaac graduated from Williams College with Highest Honors in Political Economy and was a Thomas J. Watson Foundation Fellow.
Mr. Zummo is Chief Investment Officer of J.P. Morgan Alternative Asset Management Hedge Fund Solutions. He is head of the Portfolio Management Group and lead portfolio manager for the JP Morgan Multi Manager Alternatives Fund, a US Mutual Fund. Mr. Zummo is Chair of the JPMAAM HFS Investment Committee and co-founded JPMAAM HFS in 1994. Prior to that, Mr. Zummo served as the manager of retirement plan investments for the Interpublic Group of Companies from 1992 to 1994, where he was responsible for analysis, asset allocation, and manager selection. From 1990 to 1992, he worked at the former Chase organization as an investment analyst and consultant for institutional clients of the Chase Consulting Group. Mr. Zummo received a B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany and an M.B.A. from New York University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
Peter D. Greene is a partner and Vice Chair of Lowenstein Sandler LLP’s Investment Management Group. He served as the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of a buy- side investment firm earlier in his career. Peter has a unique understanding of his clients’ goals and the nature of their interactions with investors, regulators, auditors, administrators, employees, and outside counsel. Clients refer to Peter as “an exceptional lawyer,” who “combines an excellent business sense with a strong legal background.”
Dividing his time between representing well-pedigreed hedge fund managers launching their first funds and top-50 (by AUM) managers, Peter enjoys the differing needs of these two client bases. He advises clients on the formation and structuring of funds and management companies, compliance and regulatory matters, and executive and employee compensation (on both the manager and employee sides). He also has particular expertise in advising clients with respect to insider trading determinations, including with respect to the purchase, analysis, and use of alternative/big data. Michael Rothenberg is Founding Partner, President and Portfolio Manager of Moab Capital Partners LLC. Mr. Rothenberg has spent over 20 years as a professional event driven investor with great success in the Hedge Fund industry. He started Moab in 2006 to build a research intensive world-class firm that could take advantage of dislocations across the event-driven space. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Rothenberg was the senior investment professional at Xerion Capital Partners, LLC, a $500 million hedge fund where he was responsible for investing and trading a portfolio of distressed debt, bank debt and event driven equities. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Rothenberg was the distressed debt Portfolio Manager at Troy Capital Management, LLC. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Rothenberg was an investment analyst at Gracie Capital Partners, LLC an event driven and distressed debt focused hedge fund. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Rothenberg was an investment analyst at Perry Capital, LLC, an $11.5 billion hedge fund, where he focused on distressed debt, event driven equity, and private equity investments. Prior to entering the investment management industry, from 1995 to 1998, Mr. Rothenberg was an investment banking analyst at Peter J. Solomon Company, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Rothenberg earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1995 from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, majoring in finance.
Morris Mark is Chief Executive Officer, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer. He leads the investment process and research team on a daily basis, and is responsible for portfolio management and risk decisions. Mr. Mark has over 35 years of institutional research, professional investing and risk oversight expertise. Prior to founding Mark Asset Management, he was at Goldman Sachs as a senior analyst and as a member of the risk arbitrage department. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Mark began his investment career as an institutional analyst at First Manhattan Company. He was voted on to Institutional Investor magazine's "All-America Research Team” for 15 consecutive years. Mr. Mark holds a BA in Economics Cum Laude from Brooklyn College and a JD from Harvard Law School. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Harvard Law School.
Currently a graduate analyst with BlackRock in their headquarter office in NYC, I have a deep understanding in the nuances that generate large benefits in model power of both the local and macro real estate industry, with an emphasis on the network of market factors that influence real estate finance going beyond the surface of the market into its core to see its inner driving forces and gain meaningful and deep insights into market mechanisms at the highest level. At Emory University, Goizueta Business School, I have studied equity smart beta and factor investing (423/Investments); The fixed income market fundamentals such as pricing of bonds, bond yields, the term structure of interest rates, duration and convexity (429/Fixed Income); The impact of leverage, creative financing, and federal tax policies on the art and science of valuation by discounted cash flow methodologies, multiples analysis, and precedent transactions techniques of real estate assets (489/Advanced Real Estate Finance).
In addition, I am highly trained in the area of Accounting, Analytic Consulting, Real Estate Development, REITs, Capital Markets, Economics of Uncertainty, Excel VBA & Macros for Finance, Python to build quantitative models to predict returns and evaluate risks, ARGUS Enterprise, Aladdin, and Bloomberg. I have a highly developed expertise for analyzing large data sets and am a student of the Global Capital Markets.

Justin Karp serves as a Principal at Golub Capital, a leading alternative asset manager with over $30 billion in AUM. Mr. Karp is responsible for sourcing, executing and monitoring private debt and equity investments for the Firm. Prior to joining Golub Capital in 2007, Mr. Karp worked in the Investment Banking department at Shattuck Hammond Partners, where he advised clients on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Karp earned a BBA degree, with a dual concentration in Finance and International Business, from the Roberto C. Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
