Sanjay Bhakta is the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) of
Condé Nast, and joined the company in January 2020.
Sanjay oversees all areas of the company’s global product, enterprise
technology, data strategy and delivery inclusive of products, platforms
and services. Sanjay is a member of the Condé Nast Executive
Leadership Team reporting to Roger Lynch, CEO of Condé Nast.
Sanjay is responsible for driving innovation and development of
game-changing products and services for our portfolio of iconic brands
around the world. He leads the company-wide product, technology and
data strategy, engineering, UX, infrastructure and operations, and has
responsibility for the management of a global team based on lean and
agile ways of working. In the past two years, Sanjay’s Global Product,
Technology and Data organization has been instrumental in driving the
diversification of our revenue, bringing globally scalable product
capabilities such as subscriptions, commerce and enhancing the story
telling product experiences incorporating live stories, live streaming and
streaming video (commissioned and advertiser).
Sanjay has also been instrumental in establishing the Condé Nast
Technology Lab in Bangalore and Chennai, building a new team of 500+
product, technology and data specialists to support the scale and growth
of Condé Nast’s products, platforms and services.
Sanjay joined Condé Nast from Pearson, where he served as SVP of
global platform and product engineering, with responsibility for the global
platform for content, digital educational products and services. Prior to
joining Pearson, he spent three years at HBO, as vice president of
media software engineering, where he was responsible for the entire
media supply chain starting with content acquisition and culminating in
linear and nonlinear distribution channels both domestically and
internationally.
Sanjay is a graduate of the University of Mysore, India with a Bachelor of
Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He also
attended Columbia Business School and holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and Strategy.
