This roundtable is intended for YJP's Professional level members (3-9 years work experience).

Join us for an intimate In-Person real estate roundtable with Glen Weiss. This roundtable is for Professional-level members of YJP. This session will be an opportunity to connect with a select, intimate group of young rising stars in the industry, as we convene on August 15th from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

Glen Weiss is Executive Vice President - Office Leasing and Co-Head of Real Estate at Vornado Realty Trust. Mr. Weiss is jointly responsible for the daily operating of Vornado's real estate business and is actively involved in all development, acquisition and disposition activities. Mr. Welss also oversees leasing activity in New York, Chicago and San Francisco, including Vornado's 20 million square foot Manhattan portfolio, the 3.7 million square foot Mart in Chicago and the 1.8 milion square foot 555 California Street complex in San Francisco. He manages a leasing team of both internal and external brokers, and oversees the negotiation of all office leasing transactions. Mr. Weiss has been associated with Vornado and the Mendik Company, which Vornado acquired, for his entire career. He first joined Mendik in 1986 as a 16 year-old Summer Porter at 11 Penn Plaza, and continued as an intern through high school and college. In 1992, Mendik appointed him as an Assistant Building Manager and he went on to become Buntding Manager at 1740 Broadway and 11 Penn Plaza. In 1998, following Vornado's acquisition of Mendik, he transitioned to leasing, and in 2007 he was appointed to lead the group.

Vornado’s portfolio is concentrated in the nation’s key market — New York City — along with the premier asset in both Chicago and San Francisco. Vornado is also the real estate industry leader in sustainability policy. The company owns and manages over 26 million square feet of LEED certified buildings and received the Energy Star Partner of the Year Award, Sustained Excellence 2022.

Vornado Commemorated 50 years on the NYSE in 2012 and is a member of the S&P MidCap 400.

Mr. Weiss was 2010 Chairman of the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association, and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York's Seminar Committee. He has received community recognition on several occasions, including the 2010 New York Cares Corporate Community Outreach Award, the 2012 Big Brothers Big Sisters Real Estate Award, the 2014 REBNY Young Person of the Year, and the 2018 Diabetes Research Institute Leadership Award. Mr. Weiss earned his B.A. from the University of Delaware and his M.B.A. from Pace University.
He resides in Livingston, New Jersey with his wife Staci and their 3 daughters - Leah, Emily and Abby.

Joseph J. Messina
Vice Chairman at JLL

Joe Messina is an Vice Chairman with JLL's New York City office. He is tasked with building and managing a strategic consulting/analytics group that will provide industry leading analytics and offer high level consulting, transaction strategy, structuring and execution services.

Joe joined JLL from Savills Studley, Inc. where he was an executive managing director. At Savills Studley, he developed and managed a consulting/analytics group that served their New York and New Jersey offices. Joe provides a unique combination of strategy and financial planning expertise which results in the development and implementation of value-add occupancy decisions. Joe's ability to translate a firm's financial and operational objectives into a tactical vision has resulted in the creation of significant value / savings. Joe has an excellent understanding real estate's financial statement impact and is highly skilled at structuring and analyzing real estate transactions to maximize specific economic objectives.

He began his career in 1997 as an associate at Studley. He subsequently held various positions at the firm until February 2013 when he was promoted to executive managing director.
