In-Person Roundtable: Research & Fundamental Equities with Bill Wappler, Partner at Balyasny Asset Management

Bill Wappler is a Partner, the Director of Research for BAM's Fundamental Equities business, and a member of the firm's Investment Committee. He joined BAM in June 2015 from Point72 Asset Management where he was Associate Director of Research, and also Chief Operating Officer of the Sigma Division. Before joining Point72, he worked for Morgan Stanley in Institutional Equity sales and later was promoted to Associate Director of Equity Research. Bill holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management/Northwestern University where he was an FC Austin Scholar; and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Bill is also a CFA charter holder.

In 2010, Adam formed Odyssey Search Partners. Since then, he has built a premier search practice that is focused on placing investment professionals at Hedge Funds, Private Equity Firms, Venture Capital Funds, Family Offices and Traditional Asset Management Firms. Adam has executed searches at all levels, from Partners, Portfolio Managers, and Senior Investment Staff, to Junior Analysts and pre MBA hires. Before Odyssey Search Partners, Adam was a senior search consultant at a large global search firm. During the six years he was there, Adam built a client base centered around fundamentally driven hedge fund and private equity clients. He graduated from Penn State with a degree in Public Relations. Adam was named one of Wall Street’s top executive recruiters by Business Insider, February 2019.
