As Senior Vice President, Ben has led the Infrastructure and Timber investment group for Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) since 2014. AIMCo is an active direct investor in infrastructure and timber where Ben is responsible for all aspects of a global portfolio of over C$10 billion. While working for AIMCo Ben’s transaction experience includes numerous sectors including utilities, renewable power, thermal power, toll roads, airports, ports, midstream assets as well as investments in timberlands. Ben currently serves on the board of directors for Grupo SAESA (a Chilean power utility) as well as Mosaic Forest Management. Previously Ben served on the boards of London City Airport, Puget Sound Energy and Autopista Central.
Prior to joining AIMCo over 11 years ago, Ben’s previous experience includes Capital Power Corporation (formally EPCOR Power Development Corporation) where he had commercial responsibilities developing new-build power generation projects and was involved in the acquisition of numerous power facilities across the US and Canada. Ben also worked to advance several of EPCOR Utilities’ commercial water projects and was part of a special opportunities team responsible for a successful spinout and IPO of one of the operating divisions of the company. Prior to that, Ben worked for an advisory firm developing and refining business strategy for technology-based companies as well as raising financing to support client’s growth plans.
Ben holds an MBA from the University of Alberta where he also received his undergraduate degree. Ben also is a CFA Charterholder.

As an M&A lawyer with over 20 years’ experience, Fritz advises clients on a broad range of M&A and capital markets transactions across a variety sectors, including energy and utilities, insurance, financial services, manufacturing, chemicals and technology. He has extensive experience representing utilities and infrastructure funds in public and private company mergers, joint ventures, equity investments, and debt and hybrid securities issuances, among other transactions. Additionally, Fritz advises clients on corporate governance and disclosure issues under the federal securities laws and exchange rules, as well as on general corporate matters.
Scott is responsible for overseeing CPPIB’s significant global infrastructure program. He has almost 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. He joined the CPP Investment Board’s Private Investments department in 2005 as a Senior Principal to start the Infrastructure Investments group, and in 2009 moved to the Public Market Investments department to start the Relationship Investments group and was most recently Managing Director, Head of Fundamental Equities. Prior to that, Scott was an investment professional at Onex Corporation and held various positions in both finance and operations at GE Capital Real Estate and GE Plastics.
Scott holds a MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen's University, Canada.
He currently serves on the boards of TORC Oil & Gas Ltd. and Entertainment One Ltd., and has served on numerous other boards in a variety of industries.
Neil Auerbach is co-founder and CEO of Hudson Sustainable Investments, LLC (HSI), formerly Hudson Clean Energy Partners. HSI was established in 2007 as a fund manager and has grown since then to encompass both fund management services and direct investments in the sustainability sector.
Prior to HSI, Mr. Auerbach was a Partner at Goldman Sachs, where he co-founded the alternative energy investment business and led several of Goldman’s most successful investments in renewable energy. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Auerbach was a Managing Director at Barclays Capital and a principal at Morgan Stanley. He spent the first ten years of his career as a tax attorney working for several prominent U.S. law firms and as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel at the IRS.
Mr. Auerbach serves as Chairman of Sunlight Financial LLC, one of the leading residential solar financiers in the U.S., which he co-founded in 2014. He also serves as Chairman of Silicor Materials, LLC, and Sustainable Bio Solutions, LLC, a biogas plant developer currently developing the largest biogas plant in Denmark. Mr. Auerbach also serves on the boards of Powermat and Element Power.
Mr. Auerbach has held several leadership positions in the renewable energy sector, including on the Leadership Council of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), the Executive Committee of ACORE’s Partnership for Renewable Energy Finance, and the Solar Energy Industry Association.
Mr. Auerbach is a graduate of Boston University School of Law (JD) and NY University Law School (LLM), as well as SUNY Albany (BS).
Mark Weisdorf is Managing Partner of Mark Weisdorf Associates, focusing on private equity and infrastructure investment strategies. He is a member of the Investment Committee of the Swiss-based IST3 Global Infrastructure Fund, and is a Senior Advisor to Star Mountain Capital, lower middle-market asset management business in the US. During the past five years, Mark has been involved in over $1 billion of renewables, transportation and other infrastructure investments and financings.
From 2005 to 2014, Mark was Managing Director at JPMorgan Asset Management in New York where - as Global CIO and CEO - he established and led their $10 billion Infrastructure Investments platform. From 2000 to 2003, Mark was Head of Private Market Investments at the CPP Investment Board in Toronto, where he was responsible for development and implementation of Private Equity, Real Estate and Infrastructure investment strategies, then totaling $7 billion.
Prior to 2000, Mark held senior investment banking and executive management roles in Toronto, at HSBC Canada (where he was Head of Investment Banking, and Deputy CEO), CIBC World Markets (Head of Diversified Industries), and Merrill Lynch Canada. Mark is a CPA, CA (Deloitte), CFA and CBV (Chartered Business Valuator).
Mark served on the Board of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) and was founding Chairman of their Research, Benchmarking and Standards Committee. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, where he is a past President of the University of Toronto Alumni Association.
