Joseph V. Tripodi is Chief Marketing Officer of the Subway Corporation, the world’s largest restaurant chain with +45,000 sandwich shops in 112 countries.
Mr. Tripodi brings more than 30 years of diverse marketing, customer, commercial and general management experience from around the world to Subway. He joined the Company in December 2015 and is primarily focused on the stewardship of the Subway brand, Innovation, R&D, Corporate Social Responsibility, Pricing, Local Store Marketing, PR, Creative Services, and Food Safety and Quality.
Prior to Subway, Mr. Tripodi was Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of The Coca-Cola Company from 2007-2014. Under his leadership, The Coca-Cola Company was named the Cannes Lions Creative Marketer of the Year in 2013, while Trademark Coca-Cola continued its 13-year run as Interbrand’s Most Valuable Global Brand. In addition, the Company’s marketing strategies and innovative consumer engagement work earned it a place among Fast Company magazine’s Top 15 Most Innovative Companies in the World in 2013. The Company was also recognized as Advertising Age Marketer of the Year and Mobile Marketing Association Marketer of the Year.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Mr. Tripodi was Chief Marketing Officer for the Allstate Insurance Company where he was instrumental in developing and launching Allstate’s “Your Choice Auto and Home,” the industry’s first product innovation in decades. Mr. Tripodi also served in Chief Marketing Officer roles for The Bank of New York, Seagram Spirits & Wine, and Master Card International where he architected the highly differentiated and acclaimed “Priceless” advertising campaign. Early in his career he held positions of increasing responsibility for Mobil Oil Corporation in Paris, Hong Kong and the Philippines/Guam/Micronesia.
Mr. Tripodi is a member of the Board of VOYA Financial and also served as Chairman of the Association of National Advertisers. He was inducted in the American Marketing Association Hall of Fame in 2014.
He received his Master of Science in Management from the London School of Economics in 1981 and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors from Harvard College in 1977.
Robin is VP, Marketing at Barneys New York, a luxury specialty retailer renowned for having the most discerning edit from the world’s top designers, including women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, fragrances, and gifts for the home.
Robin began her career at MediaCom as a Media Planner. After working across multiple categories and brands from CPG to Wines & Spirits to Watches, Retail, and Fashion and lastly Pharmaceuticals, she made the transition in-house to Tommy Hilfiger. As the Media Planner and Buyer for Tommy Hilfiger Robin was exposed to the ins and out of working client-side, where she then transitioned to her Marketing Role at Barneys New York. Robin is responsible for overseeing media planning and buying, vendor marketing. customer acquisition, reactivation, and retention programs, as well as overseeing the Barneys New York Private Label Credit Card.
Sharon is VP Business & Brand Development at Adore Me, a disruptive lingerie e-commerce and the #9 fastest-growing company in New York on the Crain Fast 50.
Sharon launched her career doing research & business development at the Israeli equivalent of Saturday Night Live ("Eretz Nehederet"). She later joined a leading law firm to gain hands-on experience in VC-backed financing rounds, and subsequently joined the Israeli Bain & Company affiliate as management consultant. Sharon holds an MBA from INSEAD.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Tom is responsible for Forbes’ brand marketing, sales development and advertising revenues. Tom uses technology and business innovation to help Forbes' advertising partners, consumers and employees. Tom helped launch several Forbes solutions to connect marketers and audiences in measurable ways.
Before joining Forbes in 2008, Tom held multiple roles at International Data Group - a global technology media company. He was Associate Publisher of Network World and became the General Manager of IDG's Customer Access Group. Tom joined the Ad Council Board of Directors in 2016 and the Digital Content Next board since 2014.
He was recognized by the Advertising Club of New York with the 2016 Action Award which honors members and partners who have advocated for the importance of diversity and inclusion through MEDIACTION. Other awards include the 2016 Revvie Award as Marketing Executive of the Year and the 2014 Min Award for Sales Leader of the Year.
A graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, Tom lives in New York with his wife and four children.
Dan Gardner is Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director at Code and Theory.
With more than a decade of experience designing cross-platform products and brand experiences for clients in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, he and Co-Founder Brandon Ralph have led Code and Theory to become one of the largest independent creative agencies in the United States. Since founding the company with Ralph in 2001, it has grown to ~350 employees, with offices in New York City, San Francisco, London, Manila, and Atlanta.
From pioneering the modern digital landscape with fifty-eight major media launches for publishers such as Bloomberg, Vogue, and the Los Angeles Times, to defining a new standard for how brands like Maybelline New York and Burger King communicate their stories, to reimagining the digital space between government and citizenry through sites like NY.gov, Gardner and Ralph have radically redrawn the map of challenges a creative agency can confront in today’s digital world.
His efforts in growing Code and Theory have been widely recognized. Code and Theory was named one of the “World’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Design” by Fast Company in 2015, an “Agency to Watch” and “Hot Digital Indie” by Advertising Agency in 2014, one of the “Hottest Agencies for Publisher Redesigns” by Digiday, a “Top 50 Design Agency” by .net magazine, and one of the “10 Best Agencies in NYC” by Awwwards.com. Gardner received a BFA from the University of Buffalo in 2001.
