Paul has spent his entire career in enterprise B-to-B marketing, and since 2010 as a new-age CMO with demand-generation defining his team’s center-of-gravity. Paul combines the old-school craft of marketing with strong experience in modern marketing technology. In each of his roles, he became famous as the chief evangelist for the broader company, for his unrelenting push to create fresh ideas, and to develop and nurture strong marketing teams. Paul and his team have been consistently recognized as best-in-class across multiple companies and industry sectors.
In a world where too many marketers have become more specialized, Paul has developed very deep expertise across the full range of marketing skills. He’s not only a world-class developer of value-propositions, he is also one of the most-effective message deliverers. Paul can express that message in person, in small or large settings, and as a writer. He has vast successful experience in all elements of PR and analyst relations, consistently having his company punch well above their weight in share-of-voice and analyst ratings. Paul delivers a full complement of sales enablement tools and training. He heavily utilizes marketing automation, SEO, SEM, social, and account-based marketing tools, with deep personal familiarity with key platforms such as Marketo, ZenIQ,
DemandBase, Google Analytics, Sales Cloud and others.
In his 13-year stint at Compaq, Paul rose from entry-level to one of the youngest VP’s in the organization, having P&L responsibility for the largest business, the $4B North American ProLiant Server group. During his Compaq journey Paul planned and launched a range of highly-successful product lines including the Compaq ProLiant line of servers, one of the most profitable businesses of its era.
As enterprise marketing leader at Dell, Paul distinguished himself as an effective leader of a large team, and as the driving force of Dell’s enterprise story and outbound marketing efforts to establish credibility for back-office servers and storage.
At HP Paul built a marketing team for a newly-formed software business, but was quickly promoted to run all of marketing for the now $10B ProLiant server business. Paul led the most successful product launch of that time, the 6th-generation of that product line, with an innovative set of presentations, playbooks and demand generation all supported by a compelling and distinct value proposition.
Paul’s first CMO role was stepping into a vacuum at a $10B company with no history of professional marketing, with a team spread across the globe and a heavy concentration in India. Paul quickly built a marketing plan from scratch, created the company’s new value proposition, created the brand identity, solidified the team and drove a full transformation and up-leveling of the marketing function at Infosys.
Paul has spent six years at Mindtree, similarly creating the first CMO role and bringing complete marketing transformation. In 2017, Paul was promoted to Executive VP and given additional responsibility as Head of Americas which covers 70% of Mindtree revenue.
Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School. He proudly serves as the co-chairman of The Gastric Cancer Foundation.
