Mentorship Roundtable with Gayle Fuguitt, Chief of Customer Insight & Innovation, Foursquare
Gayle Fuguitt joined Foursquare as their Chief of Customer Insight and Innovation in 2016, after being CEO and president of the Advertising Research Foundation. She reinvented the ARF platform with such initiatives as “How Advertising Works Today,” geared toward driving advertising, marketing, ad tech, and solution-provider leaders to build brands and create meaningful, measurable sales growth. Prior to her role at the ARF, Ms. Fuguitt’s 32-year career at General Mills included overseeing global consumer marketing insights and analytics. She led the company’s investment of over $70 million in venture capital into Internet research in 1998, social media research in the early 2000s, and mobile research from 2010 on. In 2014 Ms. Fuguitt was inducted into the Market Research Council Hall of Fame. She served on the board and executive committee of the ARF from 2005 to 2012. She holds a B.A. in economics and a B.S. in industrial relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her M.B.A. at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where she was a founding member of and board chair for the A.C. Nielsen Center for Marketing Research.
Ian Wishingrad is an award-winning creative director and millennial trend expert specializing in branding, advertising, social media and digital development. He is the founder and creative director of BigEyedWish, whose clients include telecom giant AT&T, Diageo, Nestlé, Macy's, FuboTV, Terra Origin, and many other businesses and brands. In 2015 he launched Nobituary.com, an anti-smoking web-app, with Oscar-winner and “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
Prior to forming his own company, Wishingrad served as the Director of Creative Development at United Entertainment Group working on leading brands including P&G Beauty, Frito-Lay and General Mills. Before leading the creative department at UEG, Wishingrad served as the Sr. Manager of Creative Development at Vimeo. There he helped craft the Vimeo brand, established partnerships with Hollywood studios, and collaborated with the ad sales team to create custom campaigns for their advertisers. Before Vimeo, Wishingrad served as the youngest Senior Copywriter at TracyLocke. While there, he created the award-winning Wisk-it Facebook app, SoBe Skinsuit campaign, and “The Land of &” for Buffets Inc.
Wishingrad has won many accolades throughout his career including a Best in Show and Gold & Viral Promotion for the Wisk-it Facebook app. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and holds a Bachelors of Science in Television, Radio and Film. Wishingrad is a board member of the esteemed Newhouse Network.
When he is not working, Wishingrad enjoys discovering new cities, flavors and people with his wife and son. He currently resides in Manhattan, New York.
