Speakers



Sander Gerber is a Managing Partner and Hudson Bay's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer. He also functions as a Portfolio Manager who opportunistically invests in special situations in addition to monitoring and hedging tail risks. Mr. Gerber has more than 25 years of investing experience in multiple securities classes and derivatives across a broad range of strategies.
In 1991, he became a member of the American Stock Exchange, acting as an options market maker. In 1997, he founded Gerber Asset Management LLC (“GAM”) to develop and engage in proprietary investment strategies, many of which are utilized by Hudson Bay today. In 2005, assisted by key employees of GAM, Mr. Gerber founded Hudson Bay, which absorbed GAM’s business and 15 employees.
Prior to becoming a member of the American Stock Exchange, Mr. Gerber was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company, a leading strategic management consulting firm, where he assisted the senior management of multinational corporations to identify and implement corporate growth opportunities.
Mr. Gerber is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and The Economic Club of New York as well as a fellow of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. Mr. Gerber was formerly both the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the endowment investment committee of the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars, a public policy research center within the Smithsonian Institution.
Mr. Gerber graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, with a BSE in Finance from Wharton and a BA in Humanistic Philosophy from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Seth Fischer is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Oasis. Oasis was founded by Mr. Fischer in 2002 following a successful seven-year career at Highbridge Capital Management, where he managed the firm’s Asian investment portfolio. Prior to joining Highbridge in 1995, Mr. Fischer served in the Israel Defense Forces. Mr. Fischer graduated from Yeshiva University, New York, in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He is a Founding Board Member of the Karen Leung Foundation, a Board Member of Carmel School in Hong Kong, and Vice Chairman of the Ohel Leah Synagogue Management Committee in Hong Kong.

Mr. Bersch is the Head of Relative Value, Credit, Macro/Opportunistic Research for J.P. Morgan Alternative Asset Management Hedge Fund & Alternative Credit Solutions. He is a member of the JPMAAM Investment Committee and Research & Portfolio Management Group. Prior to joining JPMAAM in 2002, Mr. Bersch worked for Triple J Trading, LLC, an equity derivatives trading and market–making company for 6 years, from 1996 until 2002. He spent his first five years at Triple J on the floor of the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) where he made markets in some of the most actively traded equity options in the world, including JP Morgan Chase, America Online, and the Nasdaq 100 Tracking Stock. In 2001, he left the floor to become the lead quantitative analyst for Triple J’s proprietary account. In that role, he was responsible for trade evaluation, selection, and risk management for a portfolio of equity options. Mr. Bersch received his M.S. in Physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University.
