Gil is a serial founder and technologist whose first company developed games for Apple. He leads multi-stage technology investments at Comcast Ventures and also leads Genacast Ventures, an East Coast seed fund formed in partnership with Comcast Ventures. Before that, he was CTO of TACODA, the first behavioral targeting ad network that was acquired by AOL. He also helped pioneer Internet advertising by founding Real Media, the first online ad network and ad server company. In the early eighties, he launched his first company, Mind Games, for the original Apple II. He received his B.S. in computer science and MBA from California State University-Northridge.
Jonathan Struhl is the Co-Founder and General Partner at Indicator Ventures, an early-stage Venture Capital Fund that invests in entrepreneurs leveraging technology to drive massive efficiencies for businesses and consumers. Jonathan has invested in over 30 companies and focuses on seed stage investments in businesses using technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Immersive Computing (VR/AR), and Automation. He is an active Mentor and Advisor to a number of companies and accelerator programs, and has spent the past 10+ years deeply ingrained in the New York startup ecosystem. Jonathan is an adjunct professor and graduate of Yeshiva University, Sy Syms Business School and an active Board Member and Observer at IrisVR, Mezzobit (acquired by OpenX), Msg.ai, Pienso, Wade & Wendy, Entrypoint, and Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation.
Peter is an experienced operator in growth-phase startups to global corporate environments. He currently runs product, engineering, and growth as Chief Technology Officer at The Mighty, the largest health community connecting 2.5 million patients and caregivers worldwide.
Peter has built both consumer and enterprise products and fundraised from a diverse range of investors across industries—health (The Mighty, backed by GGVC, Upfront, and WPP Health), SaaS (Buddy Media, backed by Greylock, acquired by Salesforce), media & e-commerce (Refinery29, backed by Stripes, WPP, Scripps).
Peter got his training wheels in financial services, made the transition from tech to business side—building and managing trading and wealth management platforms at Morgan Stanley, Citi and UBS. Peter studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon.
Sim joined BDMI in 2012 from High Line Venture Partners, where he co-founded the seed fund, and has been in venture capital since 2002 including 3 years at Gabriel Ventures where he managed 17 investments including 3 IPOs and 3 M&As. In addition to spearheading BDMI's seed fund, he led or co-led BDMI's investments StyleHaul (acquired by RTL), Dramafever (acquired by Softbank), HelloGiggles (acquired by Time), Food52, Frank & Oak, Jukin Media and Nativo. He is actively focused on new investments in online video and next generation content-driven companies. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan, an engineering degree from the Cooper Union where he graduated Summa cum Laude and is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School. Sim is fluent in German, Spanish and can tell jokes in French and Italian.
Kayla Konovitch is a Senior Tax Manager in the Financial Services Group with nearly 10 years of experience in public accounting. She provides tax advisory services to clients advising on tax strategy, transactions, and accounting matters. Kayla specializes in private equity funds, venture capital funds, funds of funds, and hedge funds, in addition to private investment partnerships and closely held entities. She also has experience working in the real estate, telecom, and manufacturing industries.
Kayla is a contributor to Asset Management Intelligence, the firm's newsletter, focused on issues of concern and trends impacting the financial services industry. In addition she trains and mentors junior staff.
The Technology & Venture Capital Summit will bring together industry professionals from the technology, startup, and venture capital company worlds.
