David Goldberg is a General Partner at Corigin Ventures, a New York-based venture firm that focuses on seed-stage investments in the startups defining the future of daily living. Having joined the firm in 2014, David is responsible for the firm’s investment in over 20 portfolio companies and sits on the Board of Directors for Minibar, Meural, and Perch Interactive. Prior to joining Corigin Ventures, David spent four years ‘on the other side of the table,’ as co-founder & CEO of FreshNeck, a consumer-facing, apparel subscription rental startup. In that role, he led product and marketing initiatives, through the company’s exit in 2014.
John Motulsky is a founding partner of Stonehill Capital Management and has participated in the management of the Stonehill Capital Management portfolios since January 1991. Since organizing the first Stonehill fund in 1994, Mr. Motulsky has been a team leader and has had broad involvement in various aspects of Stonehill’s business. Prior to joining Stonehill, Mr. Motulsky served as a member of the three person Management Committee of MultiVision Cable TV Corp., a leveraged cable television company. Before joining MultiVision, Mr. Motulsky practiced corporate law for six years. Mr. Motulsky received a B.A. with Distinction and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University and received a J.D. in 1982 from the Yale University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal.
Stonehill Capital Management is an investment firm specializing in high yielding bonds and loans and distressed and defaulted debt. It also invests in other credit instruments, post-reorganization equities, credit derivatives, and other opportunistic investments. It uses a fundamental, value-based approach to investing. Stonehill manages two affiliated investment funds whose investors include endowments and foundations, high net worth individuals and families, and investment funds.
Larry Pitkowsky co-founded GoodHaven Capital Management (“GoodHaven”), a registered investment advisor providing investment management services to individuals, institutions, and other clients, including the GoodHaven Fund, an affiliated public, no-load, mutual fund. He is the Co-Managing Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager of GoodHaven along with Keith Trauner. He is also President and Treasurer of the GoodHaven Funds Trust, which oversees the GoodHaven Fund.
Prior to forming GoodHaven, Larry was affiliated with Fairholme Capital Management (“FCM”), and from 1999 through 2008, he held a variety of roles at FCM, including Analyst and Portfolio Manager.
In addition, for most of the period from 2002 through 2007, he was a named Portfolio Manager of FCM's affiliated Fairholme Fund. In addition, Larry was also Vice-President of Fairholme Funds, Inc., the parent company of the Fairholme Fund, from March 2008 through January 2009. Larry has more than 25 years of experience in securities research and portfolio management across a wide range of companies and industries.
Marc is the co-founder of NewSpring Capital (NSC), a family of specific purpose private equity funds focused on the Mid-Atlantic region. NSC manages approximately $1.7 billion in capital. Mr. Lederman has an extensive background in finance, investing, consulting and accounting.
Prior to co-founding NSC, Marc was with Deloitte in the firm’s Business Assurance and Advisory Practice.
He currently serves on the boards of 3Pillar Global (Product Development Services), EnterpriseDB (Enterprise DB Software), Exegy (FinTech), Intersection (Digital Out-of- Home Advertising), Snagajob (Human Capital MGMT), Star2Star (UCASS), VelociData (Big Data) and VidSys (Physical Security Information Management). His prior board experiences include InnaPhase, LiquidHub, Quintiq and Raritan.
Marc is an active member of the Mid-Atlantic region’s private equity and venture capital community. He serves on the executive committees of the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technology (PACT) and the Wharton PE & VC Association. He previously served as a regional and national judge for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) awards. Mr. Lederman was selected as one of the Philadelphia region's “Outstanding Directors” in 2014 and “40 Under 40” business leaders in 2005.
He received a B.S. in Accountancy from Villanova University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Mr. Lederman was a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
Stewart A. Kohl is Co-Chief Executive Officer of The Riverside Company, a global private equity firm founded to invest in premier companies at the smaller end of the middle market. Since 1988, Riverside has invested in more than 440 companies in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The firm's investors include leading pension funds, endowments, funds-of-funds, insurance companies and banks.
Mr. Kohl joined Riverside in 1993. Prior to that, he was a vice president of Citicorp Venture Capital, Ltd., the private equity arm of Citibank. Under the guidance of Mr. Kohl and Co-CEO Béla Szigethy, Riverside has grown to manage more than $5.5 billion in assets. The firm employs more than 200 people in offices across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition to his work with Riverside, Mr. Kohl is engaged in the following civic activities: Oberlin College Board of Trustees; Co-Chair of the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland Board of Trustees; the Cleveland Clinic Board of Trustees, Wellness Institute Leadership Board, and Co-Chair of the Cleveland Clinic Capital Campaign. Mr. Kohl is also the founding donor of VeloSano, a charity cycling event that has raised $8 million for cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute since 2014.
Mr. Kohl was inducted into the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges Hall of Excellence in 2009. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Building for Hope Capital Campaign of the Center for Families and Children. For 16 years, he was a "Heavy Hitter" participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge bicycle fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Mr. Kohl holds a BA from Oberlin College (1977) and resides in Shaker Heights, Ohio with his wife, Donna, where they enjoy spending time with their daughter and six grandchildren.
Todd Kantor is a founder and Managing Member of Encompass Capital Advisors LLC, a SEC registered investment adviser. He has 17 years of experience in the global energy markets as a portfolio manager, analyst and trader. Mr. Kantor is the Portfolio Manager of the Encompass Funds, where he manages a long/short equity strategy focused primarily on energy-related industries. Encompass employs bottom-up fundamental research analysis across a variety of global energy sub-sectors which include exploration and production, oil field services, coal and energy related cyclical businesses. Encompass Capital launched on February 1, 2012 when Mr. Kantor and his core team spun-out from Citadel LLC’s PioneerPath Capital platform where Mr. Kantor managed an energy focused portfolio from May 2008 to January 2012. Encompass has 13 employees and offices in New York City, Dallas and Houston. Mr. Kantor started his career at JP Morgan in the Global Oil & Gas Investment Banking Group, and subsequently held analyst positions at Solstice Equity Management, a fund within the Bass Brothers Taylor Fund L.P and Touradji Capital, a “Tiger cub”. Mr. Kantor has a B.B.A. degree from the Goizueta Business at Emory University.
